Transporting is a very rewarding aspect of volunteer service. You are literally assisting in getting the dog to their furever home or bringing a needy one into rescue to begin their journey to a new life.
There are two other aspects of transporting that you might consider as well. They are coordinating and monitoring the transports.
The coordinator maps out the route and works diligently to ensure all the legs have been filled. A transport will never leave without it being filled beforehand.
The monitor covers the transport while it is in progress. They are there to ensure all drivers and their precious cargo are secure and safe on the road. Drivers call the monitor to report their handoff to the next driver on the route. All the new furever parents are kept abreast of their new family member's travels to arrive home.
They say that floral delivery people have the best jobs - people always receive flowers with a smile. Many can attest to transporting having this beat hands down! Families are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new fur kids and knowing that you participated in giving these pups a new chance in life just makes your heart sing!

Most of all, thank you for volunteering in transport. Without you, we would not be able to transport these precious babies!
