Because you're visiting us today, we know you have a special place in your heart for small dogs, as we do, and a deep concern for their care and well-being, as is our mission.
Maybe you are one of those people who think, "Nobody would give up a valuable little dog like that," or "What in the world is a Shih-Tzu doing in a dog pound"? We used to wonder the same things. Inconceivable as it is, hundreds of lapdogs -- many purebred, many mixed, but all precious -- are discarded, neglected, a bandoned, and even abused every year.
Thankfully, canine rescue organizations have sprung up all over the country; many are breed specific and many take in all makes and models! Paws of Hope helps fill that big space in between. We rescue and rehabilitate almost any breed (or mixed breed) of small dog. We save little lapdogs!
We are a small group of passionate volunteers who are committed to locating; rescuing, fostering, rehabilitating, and re-homing abandoned or abused small dogs. Our volunteers have contacts all over the United States, all of whom contribute in a special way to our mission.
Most of all, we are seeking loving, committed, responsible furever homes for our babies. If you feel you can provide such a home, then PLEASE complete an application -- available on our website. We'll ask a lot of questions about you, we want the match to be perfect -- for YOU and your new pup.
You ask, "How can I become involved?" Well we need volunteers. Volunteers to provide safe, nurturing homes as foster parents. Volunteers to help process adoption applications. Volunteers to drive transports, delivering adopted babies to their furever homes. Volunteers to contribute to our collective knowledge and experience to share with new small dog families. Volunteers to contribute funds to finance the veterinary care that each and every rescued dog receives, and to sponsor the pups in our foster care to provide the nutrition, grooming and rehabilitation which foster families provide.
Please email or call us if you have questions or if you wish to join our mission!
Paws of Hope Rescue is in the process of filing for Federal 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
